SKIN CANCER CLINIC
Every year in Australia:
- Skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers
- Between 95-99% of skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun
- The incidence of skin cancer is one of the highest in the world, two to three times the rates in Canada, the US, and the UK.
All of the doctors at Bay Medical Group are trained in the detection of skin cancers. We recommend that our patients routinely receive 12 monthly skin cancer checks and more frequently if they notice new or changing lesions on the skin.

All of our doctors perform minor surgical procedures. These are predominately suturing of lacerations, removal of suspicious skin lesions, minor skin grafts, cryotherapy, abscess drainage, treatments of cysts, IUD and Implanon.
AGED CARE LIAISON NURSE
Bay Medical Group employs a dedicated Aged Care Liaison Nurse, Annie Robards. Annie is a Registered Nurse with many years experience in aged care and is extremely dedicated to her important role. She is highly qualified in all fields of aged care including palliative care. Annie works full time liaising between local Aged Care Facilities and our GPs. Nurse Carolyn Matthews is also trained in this role and offers relief to Annie when required.

Appointments for the Cardiac Clinic are made via referral from your GP and are available each Wednesday at our Nelson Bay rooms. Mary-Jane and Roschelle offer support and encouragement for a healthy lifestyle and perform investigations such as blood tests, ECG, and blood pressure checks.
DRIVERS LICENCE + DIVING MEDICALS
Please advise reception when making your appointment if it is for a drivers licence or diving medical.
IMMUNISATIONS
We provide all childhood vaccines. Your doctor can advise on the recommended immunisation in line with the NSW Immunisation Schedule. Your child’s health will be checked prior to any vaccines being given. We also provide annual Influenza and Pneumococcal vaccines to eligible patients.

This device is used to track your blood pressure over a 24hr period. One of our nurses will fit the device for you and the report will be reviewed by your GP.
